Biography

Anabel was born in Ecuador and brings a multicultural perspective to World Class Academy. She has lived and studied in Belgium, her father’s home country, and holds a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences – Sociology and a Master’s in Urban Studies, with a thesis on youth–police dynamics in Brussels. Her academic journey has been guided by a desire to bridge societal gaps and cultural dissonance. After a year teaching English and Dutch at a Brussels high school, Anabel joined the academy for the academic year of 25-26.  At TCA she teaches Spanish and Literature and now also serves as Program Director. 


Anabel has been climbing for 14 years and loves the adventure, community, and deep friendships the sport fosters. She brings a thoughtful lens to climbing, particularly around external pressures and grade-chasing, and encourages students to think critically both on and off the wall. Besides climbing, Anabel loves to read fiction and do contemporary dance.
