Biography

Theo grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he played a variety of team sports before discovering climbing early in high school. He quickly fell in love with the sport’s unique blend of individual challenge, problem-solving, and supportive community.

Theo earned a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan. During college, he served on the leadership board of the University of Michigan Climbing Club, helping introduce students to climbing through instructional trips to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. He also worked as a teaching assistant. All these experiences deepened his passion for climbing, coaching, and classroom instruction.

Theo discovered TCA through a faculty member while climbing in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and was drawn to its combination of cultural immersion, climbing, and small-group instruction.

Now based in Colorado, Theo spent the past year working as a strength and conditioning coach for outdoor athletes while pursuing his passion for climbing in the Rocky Mountains. He is excited for his first year at TCA and looks forward to teaching AP Biology and Algebra II this upcoming semester.
