COVID-19 UPDATE

World Class Academy continues to closely monitor the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. As students, families, teachers, classrooms, and communities around the world continue to be affected, we stand by our commitment to provide engaging learning opportunities while mitigating the risks that are inherent with global travel.

We are running programs in person while adhering to our COVID-19 protocols. Our protocols are designed to minimize the risk of exposure and transmission among our group and the communities we visit. We are accepting master applications for the 2021-2022 school year and encourage students to apply. Prospective students and their families are encouraged to reach out with questions about our COVID-19 protocols or other details about our programs.

Hi all, I’m Robin! For the last two years, I’ve had the opportunity to live, travel, climbing and teach at The Climbing Academy. As the current program director, it is my pleasure to help facilitate TCA programs on the ground while also teaching a myriad of courses including Literature of the Americas, Government, The College Experience, Spanish and Calculus.

I grew up in Bozeman, Montana where I developed his passion for climbing and the mountains. I completed an undergraduate degree in Economics from Westminster College in Salt Lake City and later a Master’s degree in Education from Stanford University. After leaving Stanford, I furthered my passion for education and the outdoors by running youth empowerment programs with Visions Service Adventures in Peru and with Big Sky Youth Empowerment in Bozeman and taught at a project-based learning school in San Diego called High Tech High School. When the opportunity to teach at TCA came up, I took it in a heartbeat, stoked to combine my passion for the outdoors and working with youth in a meaningful way.

When I’m not with TCA, I can be found cruising ridge lines, booting up couloirs with my snowboard, surfing rivers in my home state of Montana, cooking gourmet food over a fire and loving life. I love sport climbing and bouldering with TCA, but also love to alpine climb and mountaineer and have recently done a first snowboard descent on Talgar Peak in Kazakhstan, the Fantasy Ridge on Denali in Alaska, and Mount Stanley in Uganda.

I’m stoked about this upcoming year, and the opportunity to continue working with TCA students on the rock and in the classroom all over the world– exploring, learning, climbing and reaching new heights!
