Libby grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. It wasn’t until moving to Dunedin for university that she discovered white water kayaking. After joining the university whitewater club, meeting great friends and going on weekend trips, she was hooked. At university Libby completed a Bachelors in Physical Education and Health. Followed by a Diploma in Outdoor Adventure Education and eventually a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning. Combining her love for the outdoors and teaching, Libby has enjoyed working as a secondary school teacher in Wānaka, NZ over the past couple of years. With great access to rivers, mountain biking and hiking, Central Otago is where Libby calls home.
After hearing about World Class Academy through friends while working as a raft guide in BC, Libby jumped at the opportunity to apply for a position teaching at WCKA. Teaching and paddling – the dream job!! This is Libby’s first year teaching for WCA; she will be teaching Literature of the Americas, AP Human Geography and Seminar: The College Experience.
