Alec Voorhees

Alec was born and raised in Boise, Idaho and calls the famous Payette River system his home. Alec completed a majority of his High School online so he could travel the world and progress his kayaking. Alec dedicated his time as a teenager towards freestyle, becoming a 2 time podium finisher at the Jr Freestyle World Championships. He then transitioned his focus to extreme racing. Alec has podiumed at the North Fork Championship, Little White Salmon Race, Big Fork, and GoPro Mountain Games. Before the Kayak Academy, Alec has worked numerous kayak instruction jobs, and worked in the Marketing Department at Jackson Kayak. Alec teaches Media Productions, Economics, and Government in addition to leading the athletics portion of The Kayak Academy as Head Coach.

Alec completed one year of School at Boise State University as a Pre-Nursing student, before committing his time and energy to whitewater.
