Jackson was born in Kansas but raised in New Mexico and Montana. Growing up in the mountain west naturally brought him in touch with rock climbing, and once he had a taste, he couldn’t stop. He quickly joined his local youth climbing team and began competing.

In high school, Jackson started coaching for his local team, a passion he’s held onto ever since. He took a year off between high school and college, traveling the country to climb, developing routes in Montana, and working as a ski instructor at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Jackson’s time coaching and setting furthered his love for the community and the sport. Following his gap year, Jackson studied political science at Tufts University, where he continued coaching for team CRG Watertown.

Jackson worked with TCA during the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year and is thrilled to return to the school. He is excited to bring his coaching philosophy to TCA, emphasizing sustainable development as athletes and people, and looks forward to pursuing the life changing moments that TCA offers both students and staff this coming year.
