A student at Tufts University studying Political Science and Geoscience
Jackson has been climbing for nine years, since his humble beginnings in Santa Fe, NM. Initially, his climbing experience began as cross training for swimming, but he quickly fell in love with the infinite complexities climbing presented him with. Shortly after Jackson began climbing, he moved with his family to Helena, MT, where he completed middle and high school. During his time there, Jackson was fortunate enough to be heavily involved in the development of the climbing gym his parents co-developed with another family. Around the age of 15, Jackson stopped competing and began coaching and routesetting. His time coaching and setting furthered his love for the community and the sport. In this time, Jackson was also able to begin developing sport routes with the help of many great mentors, one of which includes the former TCA Head Coach Kyle O’Meara. It’s with this history, passion, and mindset that Jackson joins the team at TCA.
Since graduating high school, Jackson has been a student at Tufts University studying Political Science and Geoscience. Jackson is thrilled to be teaching Chemistry and assisting in the Algebra II class, utilizing what he’s learned at Tufts while in the TCA classroom.
Jackson has been aware of TCA since the beginning of the program, and it has always been a dream to become involved with the school. Jackson feels fortunate to be making this dream a reality while combining his interests in learning, climbing, and coaching this spring with TCA!
