Radka grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago, captivated by any book she could find about exploration. One of her favorite childhood activities was poring over atlases and mapping out imagined adventures. She went on to study history at the University of Notre Dame, with concentrations in environmental sciences and ceramics. It was there that she discovered rock climbing—and quickly fell in love with it. Radka became President of the University’s climbing team, leading trips to the Red River Gorge and teaching new members how to climb.
After graduating, Radka was determined to have her own adventures climbing around the world. Intermixed with her explorations, she worked with youth-focused nonprofits, where she taught, managed classrooms, and tutored students. This helped her develop a passion for education. One fall, while living at the Red River Gorge, she ran into a group of TCA students and their teacher at a crag. She was immediately inspired by the way the program combined her passions: education, climbing, and exploration.
Radka is thrilled to be joining the TCA team this fall, where she’ll be teaching AP Environmental Science, Geometry, and Media.
