Zach Petersen grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in El Dorado Hills, California. At 26 years old, mountain biking has been the passion driving his decisions for most of his life. He has raced cross country, downhill, and cyclocross, but his main focus is enduro racing. Zach especially excels at the longer and blind staged racing found in events like the Trans-BC and Trans-Cascadia races. When not riding, He is probably maintaining or building trails in California. Zach and his brother also run a Youtube series – Trail Peek – where they showcase the country’s best trail networks.

Zach studied Geology at Cal State Sacramento and since then has had a few jobs in the field. He worked as an Engineer for the El Dorado County Department of Transportation, as well as a Geologist for Tetra Tech where he focused on environmental remediation projects. 2022 is Zach’s first year working for WCA MTB and we are elated to have him on the team!

“Mountain biking is an amazing sport that develops character and skills that are valuable off the bike. I can’t wait to work with all of you to develop better athletes and people.”- Zach
