I am from the UK and grew up in the Southeast of England. I loved sports growing up and spent as much time as I could playing team sports or surfing with my older brother. I followed my brother to the Northeast of England for university and graduated from Durham University with a B.Sc. in Biology followed by a MA. in Energy and Society in 2015. After that I fell in love with teaching, got qualified and taught Biology and Physical Education in secondary schools for seven years. I kept passionate about sport and played Lacrosse for England until 2018 while also enjoying surfing and kitesurfing alongside. I also qualified as a lacrosse coach and coached at County level. Since retiring from lacrosse, my focus has switched to kitesurfing. I compete in the UK in both freestyle and wave riding events, and most of all, I love spending time in the water kitesurfing, surfing or wakeboarding with friends and family. When I heard about WCA, I couldn’t think of a better way to combine my love of both teaching and kitesurfing in a school that has such an impressive focus on sporting and academic development. I joined the faculty in January in South Africa in 2023 and am excited about learning and travelling with the team.
