B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in English – University of Vermont

Carli Beisel is originally from Atlanta, GA, and grew up paddling on Southeastern rivers like the Chattooga, Nantahala, Ocoee, and the Green. She started paddling when she was five years old in the front of her dad’s canoe, and eventually switched over to paddling her own kayak. She became hooked on the sport when first noticed the “river community,” which is more like a second family, and realized that she wanted to be deeply ingrained in this phenomenal community and support network.

Carli attended the University of Vermont and graduated in 2018 with a BS in Environmental Science and a minor in English. Since graduating college, Carli has migrated to the West Coast and now calls White Salmon, WA home. She spends her summers chasing good whitewater in the PNW, and her winters chasing summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Exploring unique cultures and creating bonds with incredible people constantly draws Carli to continue hunting out places and new rivers.

Carli has been teaching for World Class Kayak Academy since the Fall of 2020. Working for WCA is her dream job, in which she gets to combine her passion for kayaking with her love for learning.
