With a background in youth justice and a person-centered approach to education, Crista has a passion for fostering holistic development in students. Accumulating over a decade of invaluable experience as both a teacher and administrator across various independent education programs, she transitioned her commitment towards enhancing educational visions for schools. This shift allowed her to leverage her skills to contribute significantly to the refinement of educational strategies. In response to the unique challenges presented by the pandemic, Crista proactively sought to amplify her impact through engaging in confidential conversations. This journey led her to enroll in a Master of Education in Counselling, earning her the title of Registered Clinical Counselor.
Crista’s initial connection to World Class Academy was sparked by her love for whitewater kayaking. Spending several years teaching for the kayak team, she later returned in her career to embrace the role of Dean of Students. Crista is enthusiastic about fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that aligns with the values of experiential education, personal growth, and global citizenship.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Crista is an avid explorer of the outdoors, whether traversing high alpine landscapes or navigating the deepest canyons. Her quest for adventure extends globally as she seeks to see the beauty of the world on her feet, board, bike, or even rollerblades.
