Josh grew up in the North East of England, on the edge of the North York Moors. Having always had a love for the outdoors, he participated in many sports growing up, from swimming and surfing to climbing and BMX. He got into mountain biking when in Secondary School and quickly found a calling in the sport and the Enduro race scene.

After completing his A levels, Josh moved up to the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders to study Sports Science, gaining a HND in Sports Performance and Coaching from Borders College. Whilst living in the Tweed Valley he continued to race nationally in UK Enduro races and also internationally in Enduro World Series/Cup events – racing from Europe to Australia. Over the years he has also completed several endurance challenges, including: an Everest Challenge on his mountain bike, running mountain ultra-marathons and most recently an Iron Man.

Josh also has experience as a mountain bike coach, working with many different abilities and age ranges, and loves sharing his passion for the sport with others. After meeting Riley Gardner (Head of School) in a car park in New Zealand, Josh found his dream job coming true and was honoured to accept the role of Head Coach at the mountain bike academy. This is Josh’s second full year teaching with the school and he can’t wait to see how the mountain bike academy will grow from here.
