BS in Biology and minor in Environmental Studies – University of Victoria
Kiah grew up in Chilliwack, BC Canada overlooking the river. When he was 15, he learned to kayak and has been pursuing his passion of paddling ever since.
Kiah attended the University of Victoria and graduated with a BS in Biology and minor in Environmental Studies. After graduating, Kiah moved to Whistler, BC where he could spend more time kayaking and progress his paddling. He spent his summers living in his van down by the river and would chase the summer, traveling to various kayaking destinations throughout the off-season. Before working for WCA, Kiah gained experience working in outdoor education and completed an internship at the Cheakamus Center. When he’s not off traveling with WCA, he now considers Squamish, BC to be home and now runs a whitewater kayaking school there during the summers.
Kiah joined the team at World Class Kayak Academy in January 2020. He has taught Literature, History & Gov/Econ. This opportunity has allowed him to combine his education, passion for kayaking, and experience working with youth on and off the river. When he is not on the river, he can be found mountain biking, hiking, or drinking a cup of coffee.
