Title: Teacher

Resume:

B.A. in Social Psychology from Carleton University

Thea is originally from Ottawa, Canada, but no- she cannot do any cool freestyle tricks. Her love for kayaking started in a slalom context, and she spent 9 years training and racing around the world as a member of the Canadian National Team. After retiring from racing Thea gravitated towards river-running and creeking and the amazing community that accompanies them.

Throughout her kayaking travels she continued to cross paths with WCKA students and staff, and became increasingly intrigued by this program. After graduating with a B.A. in Social Psychology from Carleton University Thea decided she wanted to pursue a career in teaching, and went back to earn a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of New Brunswick. Thea started teaching at World Class in the Fall of 2020 and teaches History and Literature. She couldn’t be more grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of this incredible program and be a member of this unbelievably talented team, where her two passions merge perfectly.
